This is a test.

Just to see if I can create a blog. About my ancestors. Here's a map showing where some of them lived once they came to America. Each place on the map, and each person who lived there, has a story to tell. And this is just one map. I have others. After all, I have lots of ancestors. So does everybody. Here goes.

  1. Debbie, quite an interesting account. You've really done a lot of research. I've been tracing my family history for many years too. It is a fascinating process. I've had more trouble fleshing things out. I don't have any direct ancestors who fought in the Civil War, but I did find an account of a skirmish in front of my great great grandfather's rural tavern in Sanfordtown, KY (4 miles south if Covington) which the Confederates won. One of the casualties was the Union flag that was displayed outside his tavern, which the Confederates ripped up. I hope to find out more details about this incident.

    Anyway, I enjoyed your blog.
